Why can't I single space

I have tried everywhere but cannot figure out how to stop Squarespace from making every edit box double-spaced.  I have looked on the internet, from coding to using the T icon, and nothing is working. I have searched for what seems like a lifetime, and now I am reaching out.  I even tried the CSM route in the programming area, and nothing came of it. I know it can't be that hard, but I cannot release my website unless corrected.  I deleted the block and did a new one, and I still have the same problem.  Thanks!

I knew it was not that hard!  I looked everywhere, and they kept saying I had to code it.
