disconnecting duplicated site templates

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I have had an existing squarespace site for years (let's call it site #1).  I was attempting to create another site (for a different company - (let's call it site #2)), and thought I'd just duplicate site #1 using the same template, then to the new site #2, add the new domain name to it, edit, change the pages, etc., and have two separate sites (with different domain names).

However, in so doing, I discovered that each time a change site #2's web pages, it changes site #1's as well.

How can I disconnect them .... and if not, delete site #2 (and start over using a different template), without deleting site #1 ?

Thank you !

Hi @dewilson that sounds quite impossible! But if that is indeed what's happening then that is a platform issue, I suggest you reach out to Squarespace Support.

Thank you @melody495 for responding.  I've attempted reaching out to Squarespace support, but the topics listed don't pertain to my dilemma, and there are no phone numbers or emails listed for Squarespace support.   Spent far too many hours watching YouTube videos, reading comments about similar instance, etc., to warrant this much of my time ...... so incredibly frustrating.

Hi, you can pick the best matching options to get through, then it should give you options to get in touch with support.

Would very much appreciate any additional help ..... Squarespace Customer Care finally reached out to me ... but their solutions are extremely technical, (which is not why I started using Squarespace several years ago) .   After I asked customer service for additional information, they quit responding to me ........ No longer think Squarespace is novice based 😞image.thumb.png.b11308c16d7a9c8ceff724ad1f7515e8.png
