Transferring Domain from Wix to Squarespace (Business Email Question)

Hello everyone,

I have a new client and am currently building them a Squarespace website. They are currently with Wix.

The website is nearly complete and I will begin the domain transfer soon. Their business email is being hosted by Google Workspace.

Will transferring the domain from Wix to Squarespace cause any potential problems?

If you're transferring the domain, just make sure that the DNS records are transferred, as well. If the MX records for Google Workspace are removed after the transfer is complete, you'll need to add them again for the business email to work.

Even if the DNS records transfer with the domain, there may be a little downtime while the DNS settings update to use Squarespace's nameservers but it should be minimal.

Also, the client will need to manage their Google Workspace account through Google (or their current reseller), too - the Google Workspace panel of Squarespace sites can only be used to sign up for a new account.
