B2B Wholesale Setup?

I am considering whether it makes sense to use Squarespace for a wholesale B2B platform, and only see a couple of posts here on this.

I am looking to create functionality like an Envoy B2B site without adding another platform to our tiny team workload. We would have products, with available inventory, downloadable spec sheets and possible digital assets (though these are otherwise available now). Checkout could be on the platform or outside it.

It would have to have protected access - log in for wholesalers only.

We already use Squarespace for our retail site (same products, different pricing than wholesale, of course) and the site is linked with payment processors. That site has 2 retail shop pages. It is currently on 7.0 but we are planning to upgrade to 7.1 soon.

Integrating inventory tracking across platforms is of course important too, and we do have to integrate with our inventory tracking software across the shops (including Amazon).

Is it possible to make a 3rd shop page on the same site for B2B? Is this a terrible idea and it should be a separate site? Should we give up the idea and go with another platform for B2B?

I would love to hear others' experience with something like this and suggestions!

Looking for advice on adding a wholesale site to my existing retail site. 

What is the best option. Members site, password site or a whole new website that is linked.

I would need a place where an application for wholesale could be downloaded and a login area.
