Alternative to Stripe / Paypall

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am looking for a solution as I am a little stumped on what to do and worried I might have to move to a different website builder, while I have spend quite a bit of time designing my soon to go live website.

I, sadly, live in Jersey Channel Islands (UK), where Stripe for some reason does not offer service. My only option left would be Paypal.
Though there it presents a few problems..
A lot of clients do not have Paypal accounts and is just not that commonly used.
I want to offer coaching solutions so would need to set up recurring payments and even though Paypal offers recurring payments and 'split the payments' options..
All I read is that is not available when using it in Squarespace?

I really do not want to lose the money I have spent and all the work I have put into building a website I really like.

Any advice?

Thank you for your reply.

It's not good news. Squarespace Commerce only uses Stripe or PayPal. As you explained, Stripe is not available to businesses based in a British Crown Dependency (Jersey, Guernsey or Isle of Man).

And there is no ‘split payments’ or recurring payments via Paypal if you use Squarespace?

as this is a possibility for Paypal itself.. it just doesn't work via this platform?
or am I mistaken?

Correct. "Automatic payments" (as PayPal calls them), also known as subscriptions or recurring payments, aren't supported by the Squarespace integration.

At one time there was limited support for buy now, pay later with PayPal (known as "Pay in 3") but I don't believe this is officially supported and so cannot be relied upon.
