Why does form autofill not work?

Squarespace native forms do not support autofill on Google Chrome, the most commonly used browser. Why? Can someone suggest a different form?

You could use Typeform, GravityForms, Jotform. There are plenty of options. Squarespace just doesn't support this at the moment.

Hi @theguy can you share a link to the page you are seeing this issue? And which fields are you expecting to have auto-fill but not working?

Not sure if public links are allowed, but here is a form (which is also on the home page of this website in several places) where chrome does not prompt me to autofill contact information on any device. https://www.sundogsolarinstallers.com/order

This sounds like an issue local to your browsers/devices.

On a quick googling, here are some suggestions to the issue you are seeing:

• check your chrome Sync Settings (that auto-fill is enabled)
• clear browser cache
• check if there are extensions that might be interfering

Embarassing for me. Good catch. Somehow, all my chrome browsers had it off. Thank you.

All good, glad it's working now!

Squarespace form does support auto-fill. But if you start making your own fields, e.g. using a text field as Name, then that might need checking.
