Security Alert on site - Think it's due to an embed code block

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have recently made a site that has been working fine but has run into a glitch.

A user just sent a screenshot of a "Your connection is not private" alert that says that the website might be impersonating a Gmail address to steal personal / financial info and that the user should go back to the previous page.

The site has an embedded Google Form which has been used to take the place of a cart. The user fills out their options, then hits submit where it gets sent to an email and a Stripe link gets mailed to the user to pay. ( I know I know. I tried talking them into an ecommerce site. Long story). So no payment whatsoever is done on the site. The user just fills out a form and sends to the Gmail address that is being accused of spoofing.

All of the SSL options have been enabled and certificates issued.

Any idea on how to solve this? My solution would be to just add the cart but they have been resistant.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, @tuanphan

Thanks for getting back to me:)

It's https://www.nrhs74.com/

I noticed that it's (edit: the alert) coming from a Safari browser. I'm wondering if there is an incompatibility with that (?).

I've been also checking around on Google Forms to see if there is any way to make sure the security settings are on / correct. This form isn't based from my account, but my client's.

I've been searching around today but still haven't found an answer to the questions.

Any ideas?

I get no warning from Chrome or Safari when visiting the site. All looks good.

Perhaps some over zealous user installed security software?

There are any number of such software out there. MacAfee, Norton, Avast, and etc.

@creedon Oh, that's a good thought! I'll ask if they have any security software on their machine. Thanks!

I think it might be happening when the user submits the Google form. I think I might strongly encourage them to think about adding a cart if it continues.

Thank you for checking it out.
