Using up a package and applying a new one

If my client purchased a class package and has an odd amount left on it, say $10, can they apply towards a $20 class? 
And then can theyapply a new package code toward the balance?

So in essence, can the client apply 2 different package codes to one class (because one of the packages doesn't have sufficient fund to cover the whole class cost)?
