Custom image presentation inside blog section and about section

Dear Community, 

I started to do a blog today and found out it looks not so nice as the other parts of the web site. 

I found a beautiful web site of colleague from US with blog web page that I would like to create as well. 

I was looking for a code inside the page, but still don't understand how it was done. 

I am interested in 2 parts: how to add About the author section and how to have this gallery view inside blog section? 

 

The example site is Squarespace. This section, they used Image Block (left) and Text Block + Spacer Block (Right)

With gallery, they used a custom gallery widget into Code Block.

I can't determine which widget they used
