Insomniac
Because reasons, today I added a splash or landing page to my website www.clevelandflag.com. I made a blank page, put some stuff on it and set it to my home page. Here is the new splash/landing page now set as as the site's homepage: https://www.clevelandflag.com/cleveland-flag-index This is my previous homepage: https://www.clevelandflag.com/cleveland-flag. Now it is the second page visitors, er, visit. Trouble is, once visitors are past the splash/landing page, the site title/logo/home link in the upper left hand corner of the header sends traffic back to the splash/landing page (because it is set as the home page). I can't figure out how to change it. The link defaults to the page set as the home page--in this case the new splash page. Visitors then have to enter my site again. Can I change the default homepage link in my header so that visitors, once past the splash page, can stay within my site and not revisit the splash page? From what I read, Squarespace 7.0 had a splash/landing page option, but it was discontinued in 7.1. The suggestion now is to build a blank page and turn off the header and/or footer, which I did. But now there's the issue of the homepage link returning visitors to a page they are only meant to see once. I'd even accept disabling this link and adding a text "Home" link in the header navigation, if that were an option. Any help is appreciated. Oh, here's the kicker. I have the basic plan--no code injection. Link to comment

Insomniac
Yes. That's what caused the issue. Because the splash page is now the homepage, the default "Home" link in the header now goes to the splash page instead of what was my homepage: https://www.clevelandflag.com/cleveland-flag. I'd like visitors to be able to click the logo or site tile in the header and return to that page (https://www.clevelandflag.com/cleveland-flag) and not the splash page (https://www.clevelandflag.com/cleveland-flag-index). Is there a way to make visitors go to the splash page first and only once? I need to have the splash page's out ahead of the rest of the site's content, but after that, I would visitors not to return to it. Thanks. Link to comment
creedon
Quote From what I read, Squarespace 7.0 had a splash/landing page option, but it was discontinued in 7.1. Squarespace recently added a feature to Page Settings for turning off the header and footer for individual pages. You no longer have to use CSS for the Blank pages you create. Please see Header Site Title Link Not Homepage Change. Let me know how it goes. Edited May 16 by creedon Find my contributions useful? Insomniac
Thanks, that's how I ended up creating the splash page, but setting it as the new homepage is what ended up causing the issue with the home link in the rest of the site. My goal is to have the splash page be the first page visitors come to, but to have the second main page act as the home page once visitors are in the site. As it functions now, the header/logo link in the site's navigation takes visitors back out to the new splash/landing page and not to the site's real (content speaking) home page. To explain this another way, when I visit a brewery website, I'm asked to verify my age, then I can enter the brewery's website. When I click home from inside the brewery's website, I go back to the brewery's main page and not back to the first age-verification page. When I added the splash/landing page (or in the case of the brewery website example, the age-verification page) and set it to "home," all traffic is sent back to that page instead of where I want it to go (again, the brewery website example, the brewery's home page). I am trying to get my Squarespace website to function like the brewery website in the example. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Link to comment

Insomniac
Thanks for this, but it looks like Code Injection costs more. I'll run it up the ladder. Thanks. Link to comment
