Order gallery by name

Hi, very simple question- I'm new. I have many photos with sequential names in a gallery and I would like them to be ordered by name, but Squarespace insists on ordering them by 'newest first'. I can change the sort in the asset library, but when i add them to the gallery they revert to being sorted 'newest first'.

I just came across a similar issue. My use case is that I am interested in organizing the Assets using the Asset Library. I want to start with the oldest images so I choose to sort them with Oldest first. However, when I examine the image using "File Details" and then click on the Back arrow, the sorting reverts to Newest first. I have attached a screen-movie of this in action.

Is there a way to keep the ordering as selected rather than continually revert to the default?
