Toggle sold out items visibility

Is there a way to add a link in the store navigation (mine currently is just the product categories) that allows a visitor to toggle the visibility of sold out items? like "hide sold-out items" and "display sold-out items"

searched the forum and help guides but have come up empty handed.

There isn't a built-in feature for this, but there's a third party paid plugin that can do this - as well as adding many other sorting and filtering features. It's called Universal Filter (affiliate link).

yikes, $70 for a feature that should be included... thanks for your help though, definitely a solution if i was willing to pay for it!
