Issues with cart showing up everywhere in the SEO report

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I ran an SEO check using a specific tool now that I have my site in place. It happens that the tool is reporting a lot of warning/error regarding the /cart. Is there a way to remove this from my website? I have it deactivated but apparently it's hidden from visitors but enable for crawlers? This is not good to have pages on the website with all sorts of errors. It will signal google in a bad way. Is there a way to remove this?

The /cart page cannot be removed from a Squarespace site but this should not adversely affect your site, even if you don't use ecommerce.

The /cart page includes a "robots meta tag" that instructs search engines not to show the page in search results. This means that visitors should never see the cart page in search results and therefore won't be aware of it.

Thanks for your reply. Understood. I just wonder if this is a 'bad' signal for good in the sense of telling it that there a page with duplicated H1, there is a page without meta description, there is a page with no text, and so on.

Paul, taking advantage of this post I would also like to ask you something else please. On the report I also got an error/warning because it's got a non-canonical pages in xml sitemap.

www.carlosazevedophotography.co.uk/home <- Apparently, the issue is with the /home.

I guess when we see canonical it's a good thing.

The funny thing is that the /home is in the home page configuration settings and I can't delete it. Is there a way to deleted this?
