Webpages with Chinese text alignment bugged - Large unnecessary spaces between words

Recommended Posts

Hi, I made no changes to my website recently, but discovered today all the pages with Chinese text on it are behaving like each group of words between punctuation marks are a single word. This makes the text stretch out unnecessarily or create extra lines. See photos.

The English pages are fine. This is basically the same issue I'm sure everyone has experienced with Microsoft word at times, where instead of a usual 'enter' to skip a line, the line gets some other symbol instead and even though the line may only have 2 words, it stretches across the entire page as if it is trying to apply justified alignment on it.

Except each Chinese word is it's own word so this shouldn't happen, and this applies across all alignments, including left and centre, and I can't remove it and I didn't make any changes to the website to begin with so I don't understand why this is happening.

Is this a common occurrence in Squarespace? Because it is not the first time my site has changed on its own and it is ridiculous to have to keep checking if my website decided to do something different today.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated as the site is unpresentable currently. Thanks in advance.
