How to limit downloads on member site?

Hi there,

Wondering if there is a way to limit downloads on member sites? I.E. I have a basic membership and pro membership. I want customers who sign up for the basic membership to only be able to access 30 downloads per month, and the pro members to be able to download 100 downloads per month.

What do you want to have members download? As far as I know, Squarespace doesn't allow the downloading videos. It's not even possible to download from your own asset library.

I've been poking around looking for a solution to this too, and there doesn't seem to be one built in.

I think a workaround might be something like this: A storefront of digital products is kept behind the membership paywall. When the subscription for members renews each month, they receive a discount code equal to the cost of X number of downloads included in their membership tier.

It's a bit annoying but in theory I think this would work pretty seamlessly? Plus it gives them the option of purchasing more products.
