Adding blocks to slideshow

I'm trying to add a fading slideshow of 3-4 images on my homepage with text blocks that do not change with the slides. So on the left side of the slideshow would be my business name and tagline and on the right would be color box with text and button to "learn more" or "book now." So the photos would change, but the blocks would not. Is this possible? Here is an example - https://www.travismills.org/

I'm curious if creating a .gif of the slideshow, then adding it to an image block or as a background might work. If you use the image block, you would layer the other content like your busienss name and tagline on top:
