My homescreen has an intro section with a banner slide show, but the divider is placed under the slide show, so there is the color of that section's background and then it transitions into the footer section. I'd like it if the divider could be raised up to mask out the bottom of the slide show so it transitions right into the footer.  Is this something that is possible?  I've found several topics on this matter but they were all abandoned by their creators before a solution could be provided.  Thanks.

Sort of like that, but with the wavy shape divider. 

I think that is the default way without the custom code.
You can make the wavy shape larger from the Squarespace User Interface

The interface can adjust the extensiveness of the divider but it won't let me raise it to mask the image.  Here's another topic where the user has a much more drastic wave shape so you can see the desired effect a bit better on his site -
