Multiple 'alt' attribute in same ‘<img>’ element.

Recommended Posts

HI All.

I have added Alt text attributes for images using the "IMAGE ALT TEXT" function.

However, the code generated by squarespace is including multiple 'alt' attributes in same ‘<img>’ element.

The first alt attribute correctly lists the Alt text that I have inputted but the second is showing an empty value ('alt=""').

It seems that the empty value is overriding the Alt text that I have added and Bing is showing an error message "Alt attribute for images is missing" and is therefore not indexing the page correctly.

Can anyone give me any advice as to how to rectify this?

Have you added custom code that could be causing this issue? If you aren't using custom code, you are encouraged to inform Squarespace directly by raising a ticket through Squarespace Customer Support
