Product Variant buttons always grey and unclickable

I am building out a retail site for a client and the product variants buttons aren't working properly. I have custom code that is taking away the add to cart, price, and stock but even with the code removed the buttons still don't function properly.  Any idea what could be causing the buttons to be unclickable and grey?
