Evi Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I've published my website on Tuesday and my SSL is still processing. When I go to my website I get the "your connection is not private" error. Is this normal? Or did something go wrong? Thank you!
paul2009 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 The most common error during the certificate issuing process is incorrect DNS mappings so it's always worth double-checking that you have these correctly set. You haven't included your domain name in your public post so I couldn't check anything myself. However, if your site's DNS records are correct, the process normally completes soon after the DNS records have propagated (the time frame it takes for DNS changes to be updated across the Internet - up to 72 hours). It it is taking longer, you may want to hop onto a live chat with Squarespace Support and have them check it. Did this help? paul2009 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Everything looks good, except that the certificate has not been generated yet. The domain records look fine, and I can see that SSL and HSTS are correctly enabled. If it has been 72 hours, I recommend chatting with Support to have them reset the process for you. You can use this link to contact Squarespace Customer Support. If you experience any difficulties contacting Squarespace, please read how to contact Squarespace. Shanny Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Hi @paul2009 I'm hoping you're able to help, I published and connected ( domain managed by Network Solutions) robinsrestaurant.com on Wednesday of this week. Squarespace is saying that the domain is connected. However it's been over 72 hours and the SSL cert is still saying processing. Taking a look at the DNS propagation it looks like some servers have no errors while others do not. Could you please help? Thank you in advance!!

Shanny Posted February 24 Posted February 24 @paul2009Sorry I'm not understanding, Squarespace is showing it's connected. Greatly appreciate the help! .

I'd love to help but, as I'm just another Squarespace customer, I don't have access to your accounts to resolve this. On the other hand, Squarespace and Network Solutions do have the necessary tools. What I can tell you is that the "DNS records" are missing. This means that your site is effectively offline and the certificate cannot be generated. Once the records have been created, the process will be automatic. I don't know whether this will mean anything but there are two ways to connect a domain to Squarespace. You may have used Nameserver Connect or DNS Connect. You may be able to understand which choice you made by reading Connecting a Network Solutions domain to your Squarespace site. If you've used Nameserver Connect, Squarespace will take care of creating the DNS records automatically for you (yay!) but this process hasn't completed yet. It can be slow (upto 72 hours) but if it's taking longer or time is an issue, you'll want to contact Squarespace Support for assistance. If you've used DNS Connect, then Network Solutions are looking after your domain records (not Squarespace) so you'll need to log on to the DNS Network Solutions, set up the nameservers, and then manually add the required DNS records in Domain Name > Advanced Tools. Network solutions have a support guide entitled How Do I Manage DNS and Advanced DNS Record? but you may prefer to contact them for support. I hope this is of some help 🙂. Shanny Posted February 24 Posted February 24 @paul2009 you've been a major help!! Thank you so much. I used Nameserver Connect so sounds like I need to be a bit more patient 🙂 paul2009 1
nmcvicker Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Having a similar issue - we moved www.monoline.com over, everything looks good as far as I can tell, but SSL is still unavailable. It's been about 20 hours so far. Checked every instruction guide and troubleshooter on SQSP and I "think" we've done it correctly. Have been on with SQSP support and they've escalated it. Anything else that I should be checking? Really hoping it's something simple and obvious that I've missed... Thanks in advance for any help!
