text wrapping around image on product page

Recommended Posts

I see a lot out there on text wrapping on about pages and the like but none on the product listing pages. It seems like such a basic feature to have but it's missing in the setup. There is one option within the editor that seems to suggest it's made for text wrap around an image but it actually doesn't do anything of the sort when I click on it. Support has let me know I need to add a code but that they can't provide me with the code. I have four products available and there is one image in each listing. Just need the text about the product to wrap around the image instead of going straight down in a column. The website is still being "connected" to the domain so if it's not up yet, that's why. Should be live by now. Any help in regards to custom coding would be helpful. There isn't an option to drag and drop or customize product pages in the same ways as blank pages on squarespace. Thanks in advance.

Product Detail Pages (PDPs) have a pre-defined layout and cannot be customised to wrap text around a product image. The "Wrap" option is for wrapping a series of images around the Product Description 🙂.

If you have a few products, you can create a "publisher" style layout manually using layout pages instead. To do this you will need to create a new layout page and then add "Classic" sections (not Fluid Engine sections). You can add Image Blocks and then drag them "within" the text to achieve the layout that you want. The "Add to Cart" button, quantity and variant selection elements can be added by adding a Product Block.

Please post back if you need more help.

I have a store and so I have multiple services and products. Is there no way to create longer descriptions on SquareSpace without running into this issue? It looks awful.

Did you try creating an in-depth product page manually using "Classic" layout pages as I described above? Did this help at all? A link to your site may help us to better understand the context of your question.
