Customers see unlimited qty of service offered when there is set limit

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm sure I'm missing something easy and could use some help! I have my item (art workshop) set to 4 total sales, but when you look at the listing it allows the customer to choose as many as the want. If they go through the order it will then say there are only 4 available even if there are only three left if one sold. How do I make the qty the customer can add to cart the same as what is currently available?

Thanks for any help!

Rachel

Hi Rachel, I am not sure if I fully understand your question.

It is normal for the quantity selection box to allow users to enter any number but when they click the add to cart button, they will be warned if the quantity exceeds the available “stock” 🙂.

If I have misunderstood, please provide a link to the page so I can understand the context

Thank you - that is what is happening. I was just hoping the qty shown on the listing would match what was left before the go through the check out and see there aren't that many. I'll just not worry about it.

Another related question though - can I add the option to show 'limited availability' on only certain listings? I found how to make it an option but don't want that for my entire website.

Thank you

You can set the stock threshold at which the limited availability messages appear, but there isn't a feature that allows you to show them for certain products. That said, you could probably so this with some CSS, depending on what you mean by certain listings. Again, I'd need to see the site to understand the context.
