louisecrowleylibrary Posted February 18 Posted February 18 I've tried like four different methods for creating columns that I've found online and none of them have worked. I'm not a coder, but I'm also not an idiot. This is the method I most recently tried to use: https://www.beatrizcaraballo.com/blog/multicolumn-text-squarespace I definitely want to use this one because it seems to be the only on I've found that works on a specific text block. I did everything that's described in the how-to, but still have a single column on the text block, which is the one with the list of issues. What could I be doing wrong? Of all the features that Squarespace makes easy, it's bizarre that there isn't an easy option to click to choose number of columns for a text block. I shouldn't have to be a coder to do this.
louisecrowleylibrary Posted February 18 Author Posted February 18 Oh I guess I should specify that I want the columns to flow into each other, so the list of 142 items should just split at 71 items, but it shouldn't split on a mobile screen
justin.mabee Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Hi there! There's really no reason to use code for this, if you're using Fluid Engine and not Classic Editor. You should be able to just split the text block into two text boxes, (71 items in each) and put them next to each other. On mobile, you can orient them next to each other in length order to eliminate the additional spacing between the two blocks. Or, you can make two columns on mobile as well. Included a couple screenshots here, if it helps.

justin.mabee Posted February 20 Posted February 20 You shouldn't have to worry about it, especially if you build the columns and then check out they're looking on mobile. I would just break out the list into columns.
