7.1 Video Gallery Lightbox / Remove image thumbnail to click directly to Vimeo player

I'm trying to customize a video lightbox gallery to display the video player initially rather than the thumbnail again for a brief moment. I found an old post that solved for the first click, but then when you use the left/right arrows to go to the next videos, the hidden thumbnail still requires a click to reveal the video player – which makes it appear broken.

    display: none !important;
}

Any solutions that could make the arrows go simply to the next video player without the in-between step?
