Creating a manual blog post sidebar

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi group,

I'm currently creating my own blog post sidebar with space blocks, images, texts, code blocks, summary blocks and more.

Everything looks fine and exactly how I would like it to be.

Except: (a) I would like the vertical line to be full length, going from my navigation to the footer (b) I would like to customize the sidebar furthermore with CSS, but I don't want to add the same code lines to every blog post. Do you think it's possible to add the code somewhere, and it would copy-paste on each new blog post?

Thank you for your help!

If you have only one blog, you can try adding code to Website → Website tools → Custom CSS.

It will be applied to all single blog posts, depending on how you style them though.

If you see that styles are leaking to other pages, you can try adding directly to blog:image.png.6e280980f8553c5c5c47cd0738b71d58.png

Line probably would be complex to span to the bottom without some javascript.

Try new Squrespace ID & class finder Chrome Extension

✔ Supports Fluid Engine   ✔ Generate Media Queries code   ✔ Toggle IDs with Option / Alt

Never thought to use the blog code injection. Thank you!

Yeah the line is like my most wanted tweak right now! I want to reflect my entire website style in my blog, with lines separating sections.

If you have any clue, I'm all ears!

If it same for all blog posts, you can consider 2 options

(1) Design it in Footer Section, then use code to move it to all blog posts (I can give code to do this, just design section then share link to a blog post)

(2) Design it in Not Linked Page, then use code to move it to all blog posts, this will require Section Loader Supreme Plugin from @Will-Myers
