onika Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Hello, I am working on a new website for a client which is about to get launched. The old website had a lot of pages on their current website which will not be used on the new site as the site structure has been changed coompletely. I now we can use the URL mapping to add the 301 redirect, but as we are looking at a lot of pages, I was wondering if there is a way to redirect all old pages using code to automatically redirect all previous URLs? Is this at all possible? Thank you for any advice. Onika
Ziggy Posted January 31 Posted January 31 How do you imagine this working? You wouldn't want to be redirecting every possible URL or setting the homepage as the 404 page, so you have to find a way to specify which ones to redirect. There are tools that will give you all of the URLs of the old website (if it's still live) and then you can use a spreadsheet to take all of those and create 301 redirects to specific pages (or just one if you want to cut down on work). Please like and upvote if my comments were helpful to you. Cheers! Sifat_SEOSpace Posted February 2 Posted February 2 (edited) Hi @onika, I can help you out here with this situation. Below, I've added some potential solutions to help you out - I'm assuming you're revamping the old website (The Domain is the same). First, get the list of the indexed URLs from the Google Search Console. Prioritize the URLs with some value regarding visitors or backlinks and create 301 redirections only for those URLs. Follow this step to find Squarespace Mappings: Settings - Developer Tools - URL Mappings You can send URL removal requests from Google Search Console for the URLs that don't have any value.
