sovatthanak Posted January 26 Posted January 26 (edited) Which is better to load the site faster between uploading videos directly on Squarespace or using a third-party site? Edited January 26 by sovatthanak
Ziggy Posted January 26 Posted January 26 It will depend on how you use the videos. If you have them as a background and autoplaying then there will be a difference, if you are using them in a video block and only playing on user request it shouldn't have a different impact. I have not done a specific test myself, but I think that the compression on youtube and vimeo probably gives a slight advantage to hosting background videos externally. Background videos should load towards the end of the loading sequence so as not to have as major an impact on user expereince. sovatthanak 1 Please like and upvote if my comments were helpful to you. sovatthanak Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 The videos will be displayed on portfolio pages in a video block, without any controls, and will auto-play. (not background videos)
