How can a viewer pause a slideshow?

Is there a way for a viewer to pause a slideshow that's on autoplay? I'm using quite a few, and I'd like a viewer to be able to control it if they want to look at a particular image. I can't believe the only options are autoplay or manual. Thanks.

Following as I am looking for an answer to this too. I want the gallery slideshow to pause on an image if it is hovered over. 

There is no solution, I'm afraid. The lame and outdated web host I left in January was able to do this, along with being able to zoom on the stopped image. I'm getting really frustrated by all the things Squarespace can not do.

Yes, i've used a slideshow reel now instead! It's not ideal is it.

Hi @Ellelle, So I've tried to get my idea to work for the past hour and to no avail. 

I've tried targetting the block ID, the .sqs-gallery-wrapper and everything inbetween. It might not be possible, but maybe @tuanphan or @Ziggy could help?
