lulu.lindberg Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I am considering a website that will have content that falls under two sections: WORK or PLAY I'm hoping to be able to have a bar at the top above the nav, that would have those words WORK / PLAY similar to how a multi language site would have a toggle to switch languages. This would switch to different sections of the site... Is this doable? Thanks in advance.
SimonZSImon Posted January 19 Posted January 19 (edited) Yes this is doable. You can for example create different sites for WORK and PLAY and then navigate to the sites based on which word the user clicked. With some css you can also put different headers on the respective sites. Here you can find a video that explains how to add text above the header: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sE0Ft39MtCA 🙂 Edited January 19 by SimonZSImon
lulu.lindberg Posted January 19 Author Posted January 19 @SimonZSImon Thank you for your reply. When you say "create different sites" - do you mean I would need multiple domains? I have created a site before that had different sections based on a location selected on a cover page (all english, just different locations)- however I don't want to use a cover page in this instance. I'd like to be able to have the user land on a default home page, and then have the toggle visible at top that would swap the content when you click. I will check out that youtube video to see if that is what I'm looking for.

You can have one squarespace website and different pages on it. Then you can customize pages for WORK and PLAY content and based on what the visitor clicked on redirect to the respective page. Does this answer your question? Edited January 19 by SimonZSImon
Ziggy Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I would suggest using this guide to set up, but instead of English and Spanish, do work and play: https://www.bradgood.net/articles/multi-language-content-on-any-squarespace-template Please like and upvote if my comments were helpful to you. lulu.lindberg Posted January 24 Author Posted January 24 @Ziggy I've been playing with this with only some success - can you only use two characters for the language set up? So for example would the following not work? Would it have to be 'wo' and 'pl' versus 'work' and 'play'? var defaultLanguage = 'work' Ziggy 1
Ziggy Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I haven't tested this, but if you change this 2 to a 4 you should be able to use work and play: Please like and upvote if my comments were helpful to you. I tried that earlier but my eyes were tired and I might have made errors elsewhere. Thank you! Will post in here if it works. @Ziggy
