Is it possible to use Amazon Blocks for products so that I get the organizational features of the storefront (categories, etc.), but can use the storefront to link to my affiliates program?

I have been working on launching my store for a couple of months now. Here's where I'm having issues:

  • batch editing products
  • editing the metadata for SEO on my product photos
  • lntegrating or embedding Mailerlite (new version) correctly for newsletters and email capture, while using Squarespace for customer payments and invoices. I would love to use Squarespace Campaigns, but they just don't have enough options.
  • is there a way to have a "pre-sale" option at checkout? There are certain products I'd like to have a sale for before I make them, such as calendars or zines. A pre-sale with a given time frame would be perfect!
  • further clarification for local pick-up options and shipping options for fulfilment - can we use pirate ship?

Looking forward to learning it all to finally launch my store!

Two questions:

1. I started off with Squarespace 7.0 and have been considering updating to 7.1. It seems like a big job, though - essentially recreating everything I've already done. Is there an easy way to upgrade and, if so, is there a 7.2 version on the horizon? I'd hate to do the work only to find the "new" version is outdated.

2. Is there a way to add video to my shop listings? I don't want to embed a video. I would like the functionality of uploading one video among the product photos. Etsy has this functionality and I would love to have my Squarespace listings match my Etsy ones.

I second the batch editing. It would be great if I could put my entire shop, a section, or even just a few products on sale all at once either by using the sale prices I've already plugged in or, ideally, by having the ability to specify an amount (25% off, for example) and have that calculated for each product.

Hi there,

My client requires Authorize.net as a payment processor for their new e-Commerce site I am building. I am really hoping to find answers to how to add it to the site for the product sales within USA and Canada.

Thanks in advance!

You cannot add another payment method like authorize.net to the Squarespace checkout. Please see this earlier thread:

Thanks for your prompt response @paul2009. Would you recommend using Ecwid Payments over Shopify Buy buttons also mentioned here in Forum? I am really hoping to find the easiest and the best way integrate Authorize.net into the site. @Susana_SQSP

Hi- I've been looking for a way to add a video to my product images. One item I sell requires a video to allow the viewer to see all the details. I have successfully listed hundreds of products with images but a different product requires a video along with several still images. More importantly, I would like the video to be the FIRST "image" in the products set of images, not an additional info variant. I am also looking for a way to upload this video directly to the site, NOT using a link from Vimeo or YouTube. Can this topic please be addressed in this discussion? Many thanks, Jon

Hi, We would like to have a "flash" event of special offerings on-line.  Is there a way to limit the amount of time a product can stay in an individuals cart?  Such as 15 minutes?  This would make it fair for others to shop the event and purchase since there will be a limited number of items offered.  TY. 😉

Products are not reserved when a customer places it in the cart. Please see my earlier post:

It usually depends on the type of product you are selling. I recommend starting a new thread and including some more context and a link to the site 🙂

Question for the optimizing your store session:

The one thing that all online stores really need, that doesn't seem to be possible on SquareSpace is to SHOW THE USERS CURRENCY of the country they are in.

97% of shoppers don't buy if the store doesn't show their countries currency.

Will this be posable any time soon. It seems crazy that it's not. It's absolutely vital nowadays. Please!

There are a few plug ins but they don't work too well and go back to the default currency on checkout.

Thanks

Joe

Unfortunately, Squarespace don't allow developers (or anyone!) to make any changes to the checkout page, and this prevents prices in alternative currencies from being carried through to this page 😢. We'd love to do this.

I read the reply from Paul; however, many sites offer the ability to reserve an item for a period of time, and that, in turn, allows them to continue to shop. This makes sense, especially in the case of the item being one of a kind with maybe only one or two available.  It also allows the customer to continue to add to their cart and checkout only once, not multiple times if the items sell out quickly.  😉

Hi! I sell original art through my ecommerce basic plan, and would like to also sell Printful (or other POD) merch on the same shop. How do I handle these different origin items when it comes to shipping and policies? Is it possible to integrate them at all, or is it something that the customer will have to conduct two separate transactions (through two separate shops on my site)?
