How to publish a website on a specific domain

I purchased the domain www.apercap.com via Squarespace. Then I used Squarespace to design a basic website. After completion I published the website. But after several hours I still see www.apercap.com with "we're under construction". etc. 

On my dashboard I see the domain with a picture of the "we're under construction" page and the website I want to publish under the domain name. 

Questions:

If I just have to wait longer: How long does it usually take to view your new website on the domain of choice?

How do I publish the website and connect  to the domain?

Did you get an answer?  I'm having the exact same problem

I wonder the same thing. Not much help on this forum it seams.

I'm not even getting that!

I've set my 404 page to my homepage, but it's not appearing!

My site (vipiano.ca) It was bought by Squarespace but I had to re-create it.
It's just a single page with phone number and some basic info, but I can't make it appear, even if I type vipiano.ca into a browser bar!! 😞

To connect your domain to your site: 

1. Open your domains dashboard.
2. Click your domain.
3. Click Website.
4. Click Connect existing website.
5. Select the new site you'd like to connect the domain to.
6. Click Next, then click Confirm.
