Uploading a Custom Heading Font to override default headings

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I'm trying to change my website Heading Font from Minion Pro (built-in font) to one that is not currently there (Big Caslon FB). I've applied the code and font upload in CSS and can see changes on almost all heading text across the website, but...

Two problems:

1. Not all heading text elements have changed. For example, summary block text, blog titles on blog collection page, newsletter form title. There may be custom code already which has changed the sizing or spacing elements of the default heading font applied in those places (Minion Pro), but why won't the new font uploaded apply to even with any spacing or sizing changes in specific places? You can't select the new font for these in Fonts settings because the new font doesn't exist there, it's uploaded via CSS.

2. Because it is one new font uploaded, italics do not work since that is considered a separate font. It just slants the text instead of a proper italics version (Canva can do it, but not in Squarespace it seems).

On the blog page you can see a clear example of these two problems:

Any help really appreciated!
