rockfusion
@creedon - Hi Creedon, you recently helped me on a script to keep product categories expanded in my store. Tagging you here to see if you have any thoughts on or potential solutions for this issue. Thanks a bunch. I am looking for a custom solution for signing up new subscribers. Currently my two options are to use a Newsletter or a Form. This is the challenge: Using a newsletter will obtain the subscribers first name, last name, and email address. It will also trigger an automatic welcome email since I'm an email marketing subscriber. However it does not obtain their IP address, nor does it notify me when new subscribers have signed up (I have successfully connected it to Google sheets, however even THAT does not notify me when new subscribers have been added [known issue w/ Google sheets[). On the other hand, using a form will obtain first name, last name, any custom fields, as well as email address. It will also mine their IP since I'm using the custom IP Address script, AND it does indeed notify me when new subscribers have signed up. However, it will not trigger the automatic welcome email like a newsletter will, which a critical step. What I'm looking for is the best of both worlds. A form that will obtain/do the following: 1. First name 2.Last name 3. Email address 4. IP Address 5. Any custom form fields 6. Can connect to Squarespace email marketing list 7. Notify me when new subscribers have submitted the form Lastly, I've tried connecting to Zapier and Mailchimp....it was a nightmare. I'd love to first try a native or custom/native solution, if that makes sense. Thank you, Chris Edited January 11 by rockfusion Link to comment
creedon
I have no solutions or any code to share but I can suggest what I would try. I would look for a way to use Google Apps Script to monitor when a row is added to your spreadsheet. Then pull the info from the row and have Gmail send out a welcome email. Find my contributions useful? Please like, upvote, mark my answer as the best ( solution ), and see my profile. Thanks for your support! I am a Squarespace ( and other technological things ) consultant open for new projects. Link to comment
