TrevBrown
Despite all the reading I am still wrapped in my head for a solution to this situation. I have a domain registered with GoDaddy but the site is hosted on SS. Name servers on the GoDaddy registration page are that of SS and the DNS settings are edited via SS not GD. I want to add a subdomain (shop.mydomain.com) which will link permanently to a third party shop provider. I have looked to add a subdomain in GD but it suggests when I do this the name servers will revert GD defaults. How do I solve this issue? Layman please. Link to comment

You can create the subdomain by adding DNS records in the Domains panel within Squarespace. For detailed instructions of how to add the records, see Adding custom DNS records to your Squarespace-managed domain. Your third party shop provider can tell you the DNS records that are required.
