Carousel Sizing?

Using 7.1 and looking to use the content carousel (found under 'Portfolios' in 'Add a Section') but i'm struggling with sizing. As soon as I add a portrait orientation image it makes the landscape ones tiny. Is there a way to code max height or does anyone have a solution?

I have tried all kinds of external image sizing to ensure their side edges are the same dimensions but that fails to work.

Ideally I would like everything the same size like it would if it was in a gallery carousel.
