Form link works in Chrome but not Safari

I've got a line of code in a form here for users to review a waiver. When they click "click here" it pops up with a PDF of the waiver in a new tab. This function works find in Chrome but doesn't seem to be working at all in Safari.

This is the line of code used:

<a href="https://lodgeatbowlake.com/s/TheLodgeAtBowLake-Winter-Activity-Release-Waiver.pdf"target=”_blank”>click here</a>

Is anyone able to offer guidance on how I might fix this?

Thank you in advance!

@cludgate Looks like the target attribute on the <a> tag is using smart quotes(”) to wrap the _blank value. Try using regular quotes, e.g.:

<a href="https://lodgeatbowlake.com/s/TheLodgeAtBowLake-Winter-Activity-Release-Waiver.pdf" target="_blank">click here</a>

Thanks jpeter. I did input the line you posted with the regular quotes; however, the issue still persists. It doesn't work in Safari. Any other ideas what might be causing this?

Please check the text again as I am seeing the same issue. See the screenshot below - the red quotes shouldn't be there.

When I paste a link into another site, I don't experience the same issue.

I'm seeing the same thing as you and @paul2009.

Folks. A general tip. It looks like this code took a trip through a word processor. Word processors are not code editors. WP's try to do all kinds of helpful things like use fancy smart quotes. Code hates smart quotes and they will mess things up.

Use a code editor or a word processor that doesn't do helpful things for you.
