Customise Event Summary Block (content & format)

Hello!

I'd LOVE to customise our event summary block on my page.  Hoping for a pretty big overhaul, but I know there's probably limits. Assuming jscript is involved, but that's a bit beyond me.

Ideally, the block for each event in the summary would look similar to this in layout

If that's not possible, would be great if...

- Date could show as start date only (many of our events are clubs which run into the "next day"

- Date could be at the top or left side

- event image not shown

Given the large difference in content for the events summary and the desired style it's most likely only achievable by creating a custom-designed section and manually adding and linking the event.

I figured as much, want to avoid that, should be a lot of events going on the site and I wouldn't have the time to edit the page manually each time.

I can move and format the event date, pretty sure I can hide the event image.
