tempotouring Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 All browser search results (Google, Safari, etc.) for my website will show the company name, but also the Squarespace template I used 'AVIATOR'. How do I remove that?
SEOSpace_Henry Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Hi @tempotouring - don't worry, you're not alone here! Sometimes Google displays information incorrectly - I've added a graphic which explains some reasons why your site isn't displaying properly or at all on Google. I've also just run a scan on your site with SEOSpace and saw you haven't filled in your SEO description on your homepage (check the image below) - your SEO description should be 150-160 characters long, and is the snippet of text that traditionally sits where you currently have the text in the red box. You can fill this in the SEO settings of each page - if it's empty, Google will pick up text on the web page to display instead, which it's doing in your case. If the above doesn't work, the below might also be a problem: Google Search Console - have you connected this and submitted your sitemap Lack of content value - if you haven't got >300 words on each page that's high-quality, Google is less likely to display you on search engines correctly Lack of backlinks - if your site doesn't have many links from other sites, Google will be less likely to "crawl" your site more often and display you currently Brand new site - if your site is new, displaying on Google correctly will take time tempotouring 1 Henry Purchase Founder of SEOSpace - the SEO plugin for Squarespace.
