jbsiegel Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 I am trying to backup my site. I go through the export process, and get an error : "We're sorry. We can't open the document SquareSpace-Wordpress-Export-12-21-2023.xml because we found a problem with its contents. Details: An invalid character was found in text content. Location 46821, Column 3248." This may be the most worthless error message I've ever received, and I have been using PCs for 40 years. I want to backup my website--that should be much easier to do. What is the solution? Thank you Jack B. Siegel
Ziggy Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Squarespace has internal backups for every website that is hosted, I've never personally found that the export to Wordpress function had much going for it unless you don't have your blogs saved anywhere. You can duplicate your entire website on Squarespace, which may be helpful, though it does depend on the purpose of your backup. Please like and upvote if my comments were helpful to you. Cheers! pola55 Posted September 12 Posted September 12 I'm having the same problem as the OP. I exported my blog because I want to move it to Wordpress but the XML file won't open because "An invalid character was found in text content. Location: Line: 29725, Column 5." What am I to do with this information? How can I get a clean export?
