I need help setting up shipping for this client website. Client currently uses UPS. I have added custom containers and have also contacted UPS. They provided us a flat rate fee but that fee is lower than what they actually charge (based on a test order processed). I have contacted support multiple times and all I am told is to view videos. The client is getting ready to go elsewhere and demanding refund if we can't launch the site ASAP.

I'm not sure that I fully understand your question. Are you trying to use Carrier Calculated Shipping in the US? If yes, this uses retail shipping charges and cannot use negotiated rates with carriers like UPS. To use negotiated rates you'll need to add the rates manually based on weight and size.

If this isn't the issue, please provide some more details of the configuration.

Thank you for the response! Here's more detail. The customer ships prepared frozen food. They currently have a UPS account set up. When I contacted UPS, they wanted us to incorporate an API to the website for shipping purposes or we were told that we can set up a flat rate fee of $23.73. The shipping fee was set at $23.73 but when the customer ran a test order the shipping cost to them was actually $30.93 and another test was showing as high as $42.96 for shipping.

The customer also uses their own boxes and I have added those as Custom Containers. However, I do not see those show up during the purchase process.

I hope this makes more sense.

In summary, you can either use the higher retail rates provided by the built in 'Carrier Calculated via UPS' option or, to use negotiated rates, you must add each shipping option manually, either as a Flat Rate or Depending on Weight

Squarespace have already incorporated the UPS API using retail rates. This is used when you create a Shipping Option using Carrier Calculated via UPS (see below). It is not possible to incorporate another shipping API on Squarespace.

To check which method of shipping you are currently using, go to Settings > Shipping. You should see options like these:

If you see 'Calculated by UPS' then you have created a Shipping Option that uses rates offered in real-time. These prices are determined by UPS at the higher retail rates and cannot be changed to use your discounted or negotiated rates.

If you see 'Weight Ranges' then you have created a Shipping Option that uses manually calculated rates that you have entered according to weight. You can configure these rates manually to match the negotiated rates that you have been offered.

I hope this helps to explain.
