How to have customers submit their shopping cart without accepting payment at time of checkout

Hello! I am rebranding and moving over from 10 years of a wordpress site. I offer event services and decor rentals and want the ability for customers to add product to a shopping cart and checkout, but I don't want to accept payment at this time since I have to verify availability for certain dates the items are needed. Is there a way to turn off payment methods and have customers submit their cart without actually paying? More like submitting a wishlist so I can see their order then invoice them for available items? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Hello @NeonToast. There isn't a built-in way to do this because Squarespace only allows checkout transactions where the payment goes through a payment processor (where, understandably, Squarespace get a percentage of the transaction). They don't offer any ways to checkout without payment.

However, if you're looking for a paid add-on, please take a look at my Wishlist extension. It replaces the cart with a "wishlist" that potential customers can submit to enable you to provide a quotation or invoice.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about it, either by DM or via the website.

@paul2009 thank you. Am I able to still have some products purchasable and others with the wishlist or is it all or none? I have a handful of digital products customers could buy but the rest is all rentals.
thanks!

Can you provide a link to the site?

@paul2009 I haven’t published my site yet. The majority of the items I have are rentals so I would like those to be a wishlist. But I do want to publish a few digital products that customers could buy on the spot. If there was a feature to select wishlist or buy now or something along those line would be ideal.
