How do I remove the spacing between the site header and the blog overview?

Hi everybody,

I want to remove the white are between my site header and the blog gallery below. I have tried several different ways and even looked at the .html code (see first screenshot) but I can't figure out how to target it in a css script. I can change the gap when I edit the .html code (see second screenshot) but can't apply these changes when I try to write it in css.

Can some please tell me what I'm missing here and how I can apply these changes through a custom css code?

Try adding this to Custom CSS:

thanks for your response and your attempt in helping me! 
Sadly the code doesn't work (see attached screenshot) even though the code makes sense in my opinion!

Do you have any ideas what could be wrong with it?
