DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN on work network

Hi all,

I've recently got a Squarespace subscription and domain for a website for a conference that I'm organising together with my lab. However, if we try to access the website from our work network, we get the error DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN. It has been more than 72h since we have got the domain moved to the website. Accessing the website from, e.g. our phones with mobile internet connection, does work.

Any solution for this?

Thanks.

With kind regards,

Pablo

This error message means your browser cannot find the website you are trying to access. The NXDOMAIN part of the error stands for ‘non-existent domain’. Without knowing the domain name, it's difficult to troubleshoot this in any detail but it typically occurs when DNS changes are still being propagated (72 hours should be sufficient but isn't always) or when your local DNS server is not configured correctly.

I'd start by trying to accessing the site by prefixing the domain with the 'www' prefix (if you are not already doing this). If you still see this error on your "work network" then I'd ask your IT support team to take a look.

Hi Paul, thanks for the quick response, the domain name is www.nugoweek2024.com

Accessing using the www prefix doesn't make a difference.

I'll check with our IT support. Any more info I should give them?

Thanks for the domain name details. I checked and the site details have fully propagated and I can access the site (I see the prompt for the site password). Looks like a local issue on your work network. Give them the details you posted here 🙂
