How do i create custom order status ?

Hey amazing community of entrepreneurs and shop owners,

I'm currently running a print-on-demand shop and facing a challenge with keeping my customers in the loop about their custom orders. Platforms like Shopify, Ecwid, and BigCommerce offer a fantastic feature where you can create custom order statuses to update customers on the progress of their orders – from printing to production and all the way to shipment.

However, I'm using Squarespace and finding it a bit tricky to implement a similar custom order status system. I believe that keeping customers informed about the status of their orders is crucial for building trust and satisfaction.

So, I'm turning to this knowledgeable community for advice! Have any of you successfully added a custom order status feature on Squarespace? Are there any plugins or workarounds that you've found effective? I'd love to hear about your experiences and learn from your insights.

Squarespace does not provide this level of control over the order status even with custom code. Orders are either "Pending Fulfillment" (which is very unclear, in my opinion) or "Fulfilled". As you mention, other e-commerce platforms do allow a higher degree of customisation but, as you may also have seen, they are more complex to configure.

Although this isn't possible at the moment, I'd be interested to know more about the indicators that you'd like to use, and how you would intend to administer them. Also, if you'd like to request this feature, and ensure it is seen by the right people at Squarespace, please submit a request to Squarespace Customer Care using a support ticket.
