Payment processors in Canada

Hi

I am trying to choose a payment processor however i had a few questions. I run a events business that sells tickets as well as merchandise.

Im looking for a payment processor that will accept debit and credit payments online as well as something that will have a terminal of some sort to accept in person card payments. I was considering Stripe as the processor however according to Squarespace site this can only be used to sell subscription services which is not what I would be selling.

Is there any other options that would be able to meet my need of is there anyway to use stripe to accept payments for non subscription items?

Hi,

I'm building an e-commerce website for a client which sells food products. I was wondering which is the best payment processor. Is it true that Stripe is only for subscription products? I need a payment solution easy to use and don't need any account registration like Paypal. Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Kyle

This isn’t correct.

The built in Stripe integration can be used for all products purchased online.

That said, Squarespace doesn’t have an in-person (POS) solution for use in Canada yet.

Hi,

According to the support article - https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/235161188 - which was updated on October 25th Stripe can only be used for subscription services.

Is there any way to confirm if this is correct? I have been looking around and getting conflicting answers. Can stripe be used to sell products online in Canada?

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you.

I can see why the wording is confusing. To be clear, the support article does not say that Stripe can only be used for subscription products. It says “Customers can only purchase subscription products using Stripe”. In other words, if you want to sell subscription products, you must use Stripe; you cannot use PayPal for this.

Yes. I can assure you that Stripe can be used for non-subscription products, including in Canada. 🙂
