Project auto play vimeo on hover

Hello,

Right now on my website (erwanlier.com), when you hover over my projects, a gif is playing. While the result is what I want, I think it's too heavy to load.
I've seen another website doing it with vimeo player instead. A Squarespace one here : https://www.alessandropacciani.com/

How can I do the same with code? I can't figure it out.

I see the example site used Gallery Block + A lot of JavaScript code to achieve this, difficult to replace it on your case. I think they hired a developer to code this.
