Is in possible to add an indicator representing "new" to a navigation submenu item?

Is it possible to add some kind of visual indicator (icon, badge, ...) to a submenu item to indicate that there is something new.  For example, as we add new horses for sale to the destination we could add the indicator to draw the eye.

Are you trying to add an indicator that automatically appears when new items are added to a collection (such as new posts in a blog collection)?
