Andrew101
Hi Friends! So I get the search consol update emails and it's def not my specialty so I thought I would ask you all what deal is. Is this something I need to worry about and if so, how do I fix it? I really appreciate your thoughts and expertise on this subject! Link to comment
SEOSpace_Henry
Hi @Andrew101 - I've broken down the two different things below: 404 pages - these are pages that "no longer exist" - i.e. Google saw they were there, and now they don't - potentially because you removed them. In order to solve this, you need to add a 301 redirect for the pages that "no longer exist" - i.e. you need to redirect Google to another page from those. I have a guide on how to do this here. After auditing your site (attached), I believe this issue is due to the highlighted link on your author profile - your company URL is spelt slightly wrong. Fix this link, and this issue should be fixed (unless Google Search Console lists other pages impacted that you've removed) Reasons preventing your pages from being indexed - without seeing the page impacted, it's hard to know, but basically the 404 issue I explained above is stopping a page from being indexed on Google. Change the link in your author profile and this will be fixed. Henry Purchase Founder of SEOSpace - the leading Squarespace SEO experts. Creator of the SEO plugin for Squarespace. Link to comment
