Linking text to my embedded map markers

I've recently embedded a custom map from google onto my website however I was wondering if it's possible for me to somehow link the markers to the corresponding text which I'd have in a sidebar? For example, someone clicks my text which displays "London" and that'd automatically cause the marker on my embedded map to popup showing London (or any pinned location data).
