Image Gallery Stack Parallax/Scroll Away?

Is there a way to code an effect like this on the website: https://www.nicolehollis.com/projects/haight-ashbury/

My client is looking to have a similar scrolling effect. The hero image scrolls up/away and the image stack (gallery > stack?) is almost like a deck of cards. Each image on top scrolls vertically and away to reveal the image underneath. She doesn't want a vertical linear stack but something more dynamic. 

Is this possible?
